A discapito di chi parla di vendite crollate di Pro Evolution Soccer nelle ultime edizioni mentre i dati reali parlano di un trend in leggera crescita negli ultimi tre anni, il calcio Konami nella sua penultima materializzazione, PES 2018, ha appena vinto il Gold Prize dei Playstation Awards 2018. Ciò sta a significare che il gioco ha venduto oltre 500.000 copie nel mercato orientale.

Soltanto tre titoli hanno ricevuto un riconoscimento maggiore di Pro Evolution Soccer 2018 ovvero Monster Hunter: World, The Last of Us Remastered e Persona 5, gli unici tre titoli ad avere avuto vendite sopra il milione di copie.
